I would like to invite and encourage you to take another look at our new product, Falcon.
For the past several months our development team of Bill, Lori, Jacob and Lyndzie has been very focused on this product. I think it is looking very, very good now! And we would love to have every one of you take a few minutes to download it and take it for a test flight.
More specifically, I am asking you to take a look at the core module of Falcon, called Falcon: Center. This program provides the foundation for all of Falcon, and will provide functionality for storing and accessing data for People, Churches, Other Entities, Committees, and Charges & Appointments. There are many forms and sub-groups of data for each of these broad functions.
Other program modules will build upon Center, and will provide functionality for Communications, Cabinet and Appointment Making, Candidacy, Camp and Event Registration, Church Remittances and Donations, Clergy Compensation, Benefits Management and Billing, Property and Liability Insurance Billing, Safe Sanctuaries Certification, and Church Statistics.
Most of these modules will include web components that can be embedded in your conference website, allowing your members direct access to data and submission of changes where appropriate. Online payments and donations will also be included where needed.
Why am I really encouraging you to "take another look" at this juncture? Because Center now contains all but two of its primary functions, and we really need your feedback. We greatly benefitted from the comments made by those of you who reviewed it previously. And we would like to know what's good; and what's bad, so we have some time to make adjustments prior to its release. As before, the best way to send your feedback is by clicking the
"Make Comments" icon on the title bar. This will take you to the blog page for Center, where you can post your comments as well as see what others have posted.
The final two functions of Center, Compensation and Appointments, will be put into place in the coming weeks along with a separate component called Communicate. Communicate will offer methods to generate both paper communications (mailing labels), mass email communications, and combinations of these. It will also offer direct updating by your church members of their own contact information via a web component.
We've developed an Overview document which covers a little more detail about Falcon. You can find this document here - Falcon Overview.
So...where can you get a copy of Falcon: Center to take a look for yourself? Right here - Falcon: Center. It will take you to our TryGSS website, where you can download the most recent version of Center and try it out for yourself. You will find instructions when you get there.
Thank you in advance for taking another look!
